Within the textured walls of the Barn, this group exhibition will showcase boundary-pushing, textile-based works. The demarcation between craft and fine art since the 1970s has paved the way for contemporary artists to use textiles in dynamic and powerful ways. This exhibition curated by Nicole O’Loughlin will feature artists who employ textiles in diverse methods, such as embroidery, quilting, and soft sculpture. The exhibition includes emerging and established Tasmanian, Australian and international artists to provide a broader picture of the current state of contemporary textiles.
Artists: Sabrina Evans, Mae Finlayson, Tal Fitzpatrick, Lucas Grogan, Joy Ivill, Gabbee Stolp, Hannalie Taute, Sera Waters and Paul Yore.
Please join us for opening night on the 29th of November from 5.30 pm at the Rosny Barn
This project was made possible by the Australian Government’s Regional Arts Fund, which supports the arts in regional and remote Australia.
